Senior Information Manager (32-36 hours/week)

who can apply his/her expertise in designing data systems and managing data and information within an organization striving for social justice and human rights in the garment industry.

About the role
As Senior Information Manager, you will be responsible for the management, integration, enhancement, and development of FWF’s information systems. As a member of the Impact Team, you will interact with all other Teams to support their processes, and to ensure that the data they generate is stored and analysed to deliver the best impact for garment workers. You will work especially closely with colleagues working on Monitoring & Evaluation and Evidence Collection, to optimise FWF’s information systems for data collection, storage, and impact analysis. You will also work with the Management Team to align the information systems with the organisation’s vision, mission, and data-driven strategic decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate data collection, processes, and analytical requirements of the organisation and its existing activities for the best IT solutions
  • Identify new information and data requirements to support FWF research and verification activities and manage the building of customised system solutions
  • Design effective IT solutions to ensure that the logical and operational characteristics of FWF’s information systems are aligned with the organisation’s needs and goals
  • Manage the adaptation, stabilization, and/or augmentation of current applications to support workflows
  • Oversee the controls on data integrity and validity, including the implementation of data quality monitoring processes and standardized information management policies
  • Manage contact with IT supplier(s) and the contracts for delivery, ensuring that information system(s) meets legal requirements, and coordinate the rollout to users
  • Processing of first line and second line end-user queries

 

Requirements

  • Graduate degree in information sciences or related field, or equivalent knowledge gained through work experience
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Culturally sensitive team-player
  • The ambition to support your colleagues in improving the efficiency and impact of their work, while keeping a keen eye on the purpose, efficacy and integrity of the organisation’s IT systems
  • Analytical thinking, combining overall vision with an eye for detail
  • Extensive experience managing, developing, or integrating bespoke information systems in a complex, multidisciplinary context; in particular:
    • Experience in working ‘under architecture’ and being able to build the information architecture (and application architecture, data architecture etc.)
    • Experience with the design or adaptation of IT applications to support workflows
    • Experience in designing information systems or query applications that support data mining
    • Experience as IT project manager and/or product owner
    • Experience with testing and managing a testing team
    • Experience with Agile thinking and scrum methodology
